PK60 is a coffee table designed by Poul Kjærholm at Fritz Hansen in 1952, conceived alongside the PK0 A chair as part of Kjærholm's early explorations at the beginning of his career. The table was previously unreleased for an extended period, and its reintroduction into the Fritz Hansen collection represents a significant addition to the available Kjærholm designs — a piece that combines talented craftsmanship with formal innovation in a composition of considerable mid-century design significance.
The table combines glass and wood veneer in a design that reflects the material experimentation characteristic of Kjærholm's early work — a period during which he was actively exploring the range of materials that could be handled with the formal precision and structural intelligence that would define his mature body of work. The glass and veneer combination produces a table of lightness and refinement appropriate to its function as a companion piece for lounge seating.
The PK60 is well suited to residential living rooms and lounge settings where a coffee table of genuine Kjærholm heritage and material quality is appropriate. Its historical significance as a previously unreleased early design gives it a particular interest for collectors and those with a serious engagement with the Danish Modern canon.
