Hans Hornemann

Slice Bench by Normann Copenhagen was designed by Hans Hornemann and takes its name from the distinctive formal gesture at its core: the seat surface appears to be a slice of solid material — a thick, generously proportioned plank-like form that conveys material weight and presence. The bench is characterised by its considered simplicity: a substantial upholstered or solid-material seat surface, clean leg detailing and a resolved horizontal profile that reads as a single composed object rather than a structure with visible assembly. Available at 160cm in length, the Slice is a generous bench suited to entrance halls, bedroom ends, dining areas and public-facing interior positions where a well-proportioned seating object is called for.

The Slice Bench's substantial seat profile makes it effective both as functional seating and as an interior object — in an entrance hall it provides a practical surface for putting on shoes while functioning as a piece of considered furniture in a space that often receives little design attention. At the end of a bed it adds a horizontal layer to the bedroom composition and provides useful occasional seating. In a dining context it can function as a bench seat on one side of a table, and in hospitality waiting areas or lobbies it reads as a resolved, quality seating element rather than a purely utilitarian piece.

Architects and interior designers specifying the Slice Bench for residential, hospitality or commercial interior projects will find the DWG drawing and CAD block useful for furniture placement, clearance planning and elevation documentation across hallway, bedroom, dining and waiting-area contexts. The 3D model supports BIM-accurate spatial coordination. A well-proportioned and versatile specification for any project requiring a quality contemporary bench with a clear material character and Danish design provenance.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing and 3D model.
