Iskos–Berlin

Hyg 65 Barstool by Normann Copenhagen was designed by Iskos–Berlin — the Copenhagen-based studio of Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos, whose collaborative practice is known for furniture that combines structural ingenuity with a refined, often minimalist aesthetic. The Hyg 65 takes its name from the Danish word for cosiness and convivial comfort, and the stool's design delivers on that promise through a subtly embracing seat shell, a wrap-around backrest that provides shoulder-level support unusual in bar seating, and a warm material palette. At 65cm seat height the Hyg 65 suits kitchen counters and counter-height dining surfaces where extended sitting comfort matters as much as visual design quality.

The Hyg 65's wrap-around backrest is its defining characteristic — more enveloping than a standard back-post and more comfortable than a narrow rail, it creates a partial enclosure around the seated user that justifies the stool's hygge-inspired name. This makes the Hyg 65 a more residential, living-room-adjacent counter stool than most bar-height seating, appropriate in homes where the kitchen island is also a social and dining space and where comfort over an extended meal or conversation is a genuine design priority. In hospitality environments it brings a warmth of character to counter seating that contract-grade bar stools rarely achieve.

Interior designers and architects specifying the Hyg 65 for residential kitchens, dining counters and hospitality bar environments will find the DWG drawing and CAD block useful for seating-layout, counter-clearance and elevation documentation. The 3D model supports BIM-accurate furniture placement in kitchen and dining project models. A warm and considered specification for any project where counter-height seating comfort and hygge-inspired design character are the primary brief.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing and 3D model.
