Designed by:
Giancarlo Mattioli & Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova

Nessino Table Lamp by Artemide was designed by Giancarlo Mattioli in collaboration with the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova and first introduced in 1967, making it one of the oldest designs still in continuous production in the Artemide catalogue. Its compact, mushroom-like silhouette — a rounded coloured dome on a slender cylindrical stem — was one of the first lamps to use injection-moulded plastic as a primary structural and aesthetic material, a genuinely innovative material choice at the time that has since become an enduring feature of Italian design history. The Nessino remains available in the same bold, saturated colour palette that made it a design icon of its era.

The Nessino Table Lamp's small footprint and rounded, approachable form make it one of the most versatile compact table lamps in production — equally suited to a bedside table, a child's bedroom, a study desk or a considered accent placement on a shelf or console. Its distinctive silhouette and confident use of colour make it as much a decorative object as a functional light source, and its long design pedigree gives it a credibility that has kept it relevant across more than five decades of changing interior fashion. It remains one of the clearest expressions of 1960s Italian design optimism in continuous production today.

Architects and interior designers specifying the Nessino Table Lamp for residential and hospitality environments will find the DWG drawing and CAD block useful for surface-lighting coordination and furniture layout. The 3D model supports BIM-accurate spatial planning. A historically significant and compact specification for any project where mid-century Italian design character is part of the interior brief.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing and 3D model.
