Knit Coat Rack is designed by Japanese designer Jin Kuramoto for HAY, constructed from three powder-lacquered steel pipes that are interconnected in a three-dimensional arrangement — each pipe supporting and reinforcing the others to create a self-supporting structure of considerable elegance and strength. The name references both the interlocking construction logic, in which the pipes are knitted together structurally, and the tactile inspiration behind the design's development — Kuramoto's interest in the experience of touching and manipulating materials as a starting point for design thinking.

The three-pipe construction produces a coat rack with a sculptural, geometric presence that distinguishes it clearly from conventional coat stand designs.
