PK71 is a series of three nesting side tables designed by Poul Kjærholm — a set conceived for flexible, playful use that allows the tables to be stored compactly beneath one another or deployed separately and together across a range of spatial configurations. Their small, abstract forms have a toy-like quality that Kjærholm embraced deliberately, encouraging users to engage with the furniture physically and spatially rather than treating it as a fixed element of an interior scheme.
The three tables share the same formal language but differ in height, creating a set that can be read as a single sculptural composition when nested or as three independent objects when deployed separately. The quality of material and construction is consistent with the Kjærholm collection's standards, and the formal precision of each individual piece rewards close inspection even at this intimate scale. The PK71 series is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The PK71 is well suited to residential living rooms and lounge settings as a flexible, design-led side table solution. Its MoMA collection status and the playful spatial intelligence of its nesting concept make it an appropriate specification for hospitality, cultural, and residential environments where furniture is expected to reward both practical use and thoughtful consideration.
