Drome Table Lamp is designed by Christian Juhl for HAY, defined by its distinctive oval, stretched elliptical form — a shape that changes significantly in its perceived character depending on the viewing angle. Seen from the front, the lamp presents its widest face; seen from the side, it narrows to a much slimmer profile. This visual transformation as the observer moves around the lamp gives the Drome an animated quality unusual in a table lamp format, making it an interesting spatial presence as well as a functional light source.

The replaceable integrated light source is concealed within the hollow form, illuminating the shade from the inside to create a unified, minimalistic silhouette in which the light appears to glow through the lamp body rather than from a visible source within it. An inline step dimmer allows the light output to be adjusted between different intensity levels, supporting both practical task lighting and softer ambient settings within the same lamp. The clean formal expression of the Drome reflects HAY's interest in lighting objects that achieve their effect through formal intelligence.
