About this Cad block

Designed by:
Achille Castiglioni

Taraxacim Ceiling Lamp by Flos was designed by Achille Castiglioni, extending the spun-fibre "cocoon" technique and dandelion-inspired formal language of the celebrated Taraxacum family to a flush or near-flush ceiling-mounted configuration. Where the pendant versions of Taraxacum hang freely at a considered drop height, this ceiling-mounted variant brings the same radiating, spherical fibre structure directly to the ceiling plane, suited to applications where a suspended pendant would occupy excessive vertical space. Its shared cocoon-technique heritage with the wider Taraxacum family gives it genuine mid-century Italian design credibility.

The Taraxacim Ceiling Lamp's spherical, radiating structure produces the same softly diffused, atmospheric glow that defines the wider Taraxacum lineage, its fine fibre coating scattering light evenly across the fixture's surface. Its ceiling-mounted format makes it particularly effective in rooms with more limited ceiling height, where the celebrated Taraxacum aesthetic can still be specified without the vertical drop of a full pendant configuration. Its flush ceiling profile also suits rooms where the full pendant drop of the standard Taraxacum would be impractical.

Architects and interior designers specifying Taraxacim for residential and hospitality environments with limited ceiling height will find the DWG drawing and CAD block essential for ceiling coordination and reflected ceiling plan documentation. The 3D model supports BIM-accurate spatial documentation. A design-historic specification for any project requiring genuine Castiglioni cocoon-technique lighting in a ceiling-mounted format., suited to rooms with genuinely limited ceiling height where ceiling depth is genuinely constrained and any ceiling condition.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing and 3D model.
