About this Cad block

Designed by:
Vilhelm Lauritzen

VL 45 250 Pendant by Louis Poulsen is the mid-scale variant in Vilhelm Lauritzen's VL 45 series, designed for the Copenhagen Radio House in 1945. The characteristic semi-opaque pressed glass shade — with its slightly flattened crown and gently curved sides — produces an even downward and lateral light distribution in which the light source is fully shielded at all angles. At 250mm the VL 45 occupies the most versatile position in the family: large enough to function as a primary single pendant over a kitchen island or dining table in a domestic context, compact enough to be used in pairs or small groups in larger hospitality spaces.

The 250mm pressed glass shade provides a warmer, more materially characterful light quality than the equivalent opal acrylic fitting would — the glass transmits light with a slight warmth and depth that changes depending on the ambient conditions in the room. In residential dining and kitchen contexts the VL 45 250 is a natural specification: its historically resolved, deliberately non-decorative form works with both Scandinavian minimalist and more layered domestic interior palettes. In hospitality environments it signals a commitment to design quality and provenance without imposing a strong visual statement.

For architects and interior designers, the VL 45 250 DWG drawing and CAD block support accurate pendant placement and ceiling coordination. The 3D model supports BIM spatial documentation; the IFC file enables coordinated project delivery. A dependable and historically considered specification for residential and hospitality pendant lighting.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model and IFC file.
