About this Cad block

Designed by:
Vilhelm Lauritzen

VL Ring Crown 1 Pendant by Louis Poulsen is the entry point in Vilhelm Lauritzen's Ring Crown family — a series of ring-form pendants originally designed for the Copenhagen Radio House in 1942. The Ring Crown concept is based on a circular horizontal ring, fitted with a series of individual opal glass globes spaced evenly around its circumference. In the Ring Crown 1, the ring carries a single row of globes, producing a pendant of elegant, minimal circular form that distributes light downward and outward from multiple discrete point sources, creating a characteristic ring of warm glowing spheres suspended in the ceiling plane.

The Ring Crown 1's single-globe ring configuration makes it the most compact and subtle of the Ring Crown pendants, appropriate in domestic dining rooms and living rooms, in boutique hotel rooms and restaurant spaces where a ring pendant with historical character is the intention but where the installation context calls for restraint in scale and density. The even distribution of the opal globes around the ring ensures a balanced, shadow-free ambient light pattern below. Its circular geometry relates naturally to round and oval dining tables, reinforcing the spatial logic of a centrally placed pendant.

For architects and interior designers, the VL Ring Crown 1 Pendant DWG drawing and CAD block support accurate pendant placement and ceiling coordination. The 3D model and Revit family enable BIM documentation; the IFC file supports coordinated project delivery. A refined specification for residential and hospitality interior projects where a historically grounded ring-form pendant is the design choice.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and IFC file.
