About this Cad block

Designed by:
Vilhelm Lauritzen

VL Ring Crown 7 Pendant by Louis Poulsen is the grandest variant in Vilhelm Lauritzen's Ring Crown chandelier series, originally designed for the Copenhagen Radio House in 1942. Seven concentric rings of opal glass globes cascade downward in a tiered, inverted-cone configuration of extraordinary visual authority — the most expansive expression of the Ring Crown concept, and one of the most significant chandeliers in the Louis Poulsen catalogue. At this scale the Ring Crown 7 is a genuine architectural intervention: it transforms any ceiling it occupies into an event, and the interior volume it inhabits is defined by its presence.

The Ring Crown 7 is appropriate for the most significant of public and semi-public interior positions: grand hotel lobbies, major restaurant dining halls, concert halls and auditorium foyers, cultural institution atria, exceptional residential spaces with the ceiling height and volume to support a chandelier at this scale. The hundreds of individual opal globes distributed across seven rings produce a rich, layered ambient light quality and a visual depth that few other pendant forms can match. From any viewing position the pendant presents a different composition of receding circular rings, each frame within the next.

Architects specifying the VL Ring Crown 7 will find the DWG drawing and CAD block essential for structural suspension design, ceiling void clearance and spatial impact assessment. The 3D model and Revit family support BIM documentation; the IFC file enables full structural, acoustic and M&E coordination. The ultimate specification resource for landmark interior projects where this historic Lauritzen chandelier is the design centrepiece.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and IFC file.
