Christian Dell

Kaiser Idell Floor Lamp is part of the Kaiser Idell collection designed by Christian Dell and produced by Fritz Hansen — a series widely recognised as a defining expression of Bauhaus design principles applied to lighting. Dell's approach was rooted in the Bauhaus conviction that geometric clarity, precision engineering, and the honest use of materials constitute the foundation of good design, and the Kaiser Idell collection embodies these values with exceptional consistency.

The 6580-F Luxus floor lamp was designed by Dell in 1936 and features an adjustable height mechanism with a ball-joint construction that allows the shade to be precisely positioned. The shade itself is a study in functional geometry — a clean hemisphere that directs light efficiently while reading as a resolved design object. The combination of the articulated arm, the ball joint, and the distinctive shade gives the lamp a mechanical elegance that is characteristic of Bauhaus industrial design at its most accomplished.

The Kaiser Idell floor lamp is well suited to residential living rooms, reading areas, and home offices. Its Bauhaus provenance and refined industrial aesthetic also make it a considered choice for architectural offices, design studios, and any professional environment where the quality and heritage of lighting design contributes to the spatial character.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and ArchiCAD file.
