Designed by:
Poul Kjærholm

PK11 is a dining chair designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1957, conceived as a companion piece to the PK51 worktable. It is characterised by a three-legged satin-brushed stainless steel frame — a structural configuration that gives the chair a distinctive visual lightness and an assured confidence in its structural logic. The combination of bold angles and carefully resolved curves creates a tension that is characteristic of Kjærholm's approach: a design that appears simultaneously precise and dynamic.

The three-leg configuration is technically demanding — the distribution of load across three points requires careful consideration of geometry and material strength — and the PK11's frame achieves this with the material precision that defines the best of Kjærholm's steel-based work. The seat and back upholstery provide comfort and material warmth that balances the cool precision of the stainless steel frame beneath.

The PK11 is well suited to dining rooms in residential settings, and its strong architectural character makes it appropriate for high-specification hospitality and commercial dining environments where the quality and provenance of furniture are part of the spatial concept. It pairs naturally with the PK51 table and other pieces from the Kjærholm collection.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and ArchiCAD file.
