About this Cad block

Designed by:
Poul Henningsen

PH Hat Wall Lamp by Louis Poulsen was designed by Poul Henningsen in 1961, conceived primarily for bedroom lighting but with the architectural versatility to serve foyers, stairways and passageways equally well. The lamp takes its name from its characteristic hat-like silhouette — a broad, gently curving single shade that extends horizontally from the wall bracket in a profile that reads as both functional and sculptural. The interior of the shade is finished in a warm rose tone, producing the soft, flattering light quality that Henningsen consistently pursued throughout his career. Unlike the complex multi-shade PH systems, the Hat is a distillation of that philosophy into the simplest possible form: one shade, one surface, one warm light source.

The PH Hat Wall Lamp provides primarily downward-directed light in a soft, diffused quality — effective for bedside reading, low-level corridor illumination and staircase lighting where glare control is important and ceiling-height limitations preclude pendant installation. Its compact profile and restrained single-shade form make it one of the more architecturally quiet members of the PH family, appropriate in interiors where the lamp should contribute warmth and comfort without becoming a focal point. The wall-mount configuration means it can be positioned at precisely the height required by the application.

Architects and interior designers specifying wall-mounted PH lighting for residential, hospitality and circulation-space applications will find the PH Hat Wall DWG drawing and CAD block essential for mounting-height coordination and wall-layout documentation. The 3D model and Revit family support BIM project documentation and IFC-compatible coordination. A useful and historically considered specification for projects requiring warm, glare-free PH wall lighting in compact form.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and IFC file.
