OE Quasi 900 Pendant by Louis Poulsen was created in collaboration with Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, combining his sustained interest in geometry and light perception with Louis Poulsen's expertise in crafted luminaires. The pendant is composed of two contrasting geometric systems: an outer frame in the form of a rigid aluminium icosahedron — a twenty-faced polyhedron — within which a white polycarbonate reflector appears to float, its form derived from a completely different geometric family. The tension between these two shapes, each rigidly logical in itself, produces a pendant of unusual complexity and visual depth that changes character depending on viewing angle and ambient light conditions.

At 900mm in diameter the OE Quasi is a large-scale statement pendant, scaled for principal positions in significant interior volumes — a hotel lobby, an art gallery, a restaurant dining room, an auditorium, a generous double-height residential space.
