About this Cad block

Designed by:
Vilhelm Lauritzen

VL Ring Crown 5 Pendant by Louis Poulsen is a five-ring tiered variant in Vilhelm Lauritzen's Ring Crown chandelier family, designed for the Copenhagen Radio House in 1942. Adding two further ring tiers to the Ring Crown 3 configuration, the Ring Crown 5 builds a more extended vertical cascade of opal glass globes that creates an even more dramatic tiered presence. The five rings — each at a distinct diameter and height — produce a pendant that in section reads as a stepped, inverted conical form; from below, the concentric rings frame each other in a series of receding circular layers of warm glowing light.

At five tiers the Ring Crown becomes a major interior focal point — a pendant scaled for significant hotel atriums, grand restaurant dining rooms, assembly halls, cultural institution lobbies and exceptional residential double-height spaces where a chandelier of this dimension is architecturally justified. The sheer number of opal globes distributed across five rings produces both meaningful ambient light output and an unmistakable decorative presence. The Ring Crown 5 is one of the most formally ambitious pendants in the Louis Poulsen catalogue, yet its material language remains resolutely simple: glass, metal, light.

For architects and interior designers, the VL Ring Crown 5 DWG drawing and CAD block are essential for structural coordination, ceiling void planning and pendant-envelope assessment at this scale. The Revit family and 3D model support BIM-accurate documentation; the IFC file enables full coordinated delivery. A definitive specification resource for landmark hospitality, cultural and residential interior lighting projects.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and IFC file.
