About this Cad block

Designed by:
Poul Henningsen

PH Artichoke 840 Pendant by Louis Poulsen is the largest glass-shade variant in the Artichoke family, at 840mm the most commanding pendant in the Louis Poulsen catalogue. Like the 720 Glass, this version was launched in 2008 and draws its design language from the PH Septima of 1927–31 — a seven-shade glass pendant that Henningsen developed and that formed the conceptual precedent for the Artichoke's leaf structure. At 840mm in diameter the Artichoke 840 Glass is a genuinely monumental object: 72 individually positioned borosilicate glass leaves in alternating frosted and clear fields, mounted on a structural frame of the same precision as the metal version but with the added translucency and luminosity of glass as the primary material.

This is a pendant for the most significant of interior positions: a double-height hotel lobby, a major restaurant, an arts institution, an auditorium or a residential space of exceptional scale where the pendant is the primary architectural and atmospheric gesture of the entire interior. When lit, the 840 Glass creates an extraordinary luminous event — the glass leaves glow, transmit and reflect simultaneously, and the complex frosted-clear pattern changes completely with every shift of viewing angle. When unlit it reads as a large-scale sculptural object of considerable visual authority.

Architects and interior designers specifying the PH Artichoke 840 Glass will find the DWG drawing and CAD block essential for spatial planning, ceiling height verification and structural coordination at this scale. The 3D model and Revit family support BIM documentation and IFC coordination with structural and M&E consultants. The definitive CAD specification resource for landmark interior projects worldwide.

Available as a 2D DWG drawing, 3D model, Revit file and IFC file.
